When most customers or drivers call in at On Time Logistics, it’s more than likely that they will talk with Anne Whittaker.
When Anne started at On Time Logistics three years ago, she worked in the warehouse for several months before transferring into the dispatcher’s office a few months later.
Now, as she celebrated her anniversary in October, Anne serves as the Director of Operations, which means she’s the first line of communication for the drivers, as well as customer relations. Anne enjoys the multiple challenges her job brings, she says.
“It’s a challenge to be able to do several types of things,” she says. “I love doing whatever needs to be done to make the business happen. It’s challenging and that makes me feel alive.”
Whether she’s working with the drivers or customers, Anne is a talented communicator. She helps determine what the customer needs and how those needs should be best met through On Time Logistic’s courier or logistics services. She’s also charged with training new employees that OTL hires.
Anne has a unique set of skills that most clients probably don’t know about. She is a Certified Wilderness First Responder, which is essentially one skill level below an EMT, she explains. When she is in “back country” (measured by being at least an hour away from medical care), she is authorized to make medical treatment decisions that would normally come from a physician.
A graduate of Plymouth State University with a degree in adventure education, Anne also loves kayaking and starts the process to become a whitewater kayaking instructor in November.
“I love getting people outside,” she says.
