Cross-dock management is vital for our company as we grow and work to make deliveries as efficient as possible. When moving freight from one truck to another truck with little to no warehousing, attention to detail and compliance with safety procedures is a must.
We rely on Mike Ellis, our cross-dock manager since November 2019, to oversee all the cross-docking activities. Mike keeps things interesting with his sense of humor and we appreciate his willingness to even drive routes if we have an absent driver.
Mike comes to us with a lot of experience in various fields. He is a CPA by training and owned or managed companies in the transportation and manufacturing industries. He’s also been a business broker and oversaw a chain of technical colleges.
We asked him if there was anything fun or interesting he thought people should know about him. Here is his response!

We continue to hire drivers at both our Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas locations, especially as the e-commerce continues to grow.
We have some basic requirements for all contract couriers and delivery drivers. Those requirements include:
- 21 years of age
- Valid DL
- Clean driving record
- Pass a background check
- Reliable vehicle (Contract couriers only, drivers use our trucks)
- Professional appearance (Business casual)
- Smartphone on a major carrier (ie. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint etc.)
- Appropriate delivery-use insurance ($300,000 liability minimum)
- Approved Drug Test required prior to contract or employment offer.
