Fall in Northwest Arkansas is a busy time of year, to be sure. The Razorback football team season is in full play, which brings thousands to Fayetteville many weekends.

In the next few weeks, however, several happenings will bring hundreds of thousands more to the region. This will be fantastic for our local economy as these visitors purchase food, rent hotel rooms, and go shopping. These events also create fun opportunities for locals to get involved in community events.

It will also create traffic jams. Add to that the growing number of highway road construction zones and travel will become slow and in some cases even dangerous.

You can learn more about current highway road construction at the iDrive Arkansas website (they also have an app). Several road projects are scheduled to start soon so we suggest checking this information at least weekly.

NWA fall events

We at On Time Logistics thought we’d remind you of a few upcoming events that could change your daily commute because of drastically increased traffic in the region.

Bikes, Blues, and BBQ

Bikes Blues brings about 400,000 people to Northwest Arkansas every year. It runs Wednesday through Saturday (Sept. 23-26). The event has grown to include several venues including Dickson Street, the Washington County Fairgrounds, and Arvest Ballpark. You can find a list of events on the website.

Fall NWA Craft Shows

The fall craft shows are one of the most popular events in Northwest Arkansas that brings visitors from all over the country. Whether you like climate-controlled shopping or visiting gorgeous outdoor fields, NWA has the craft fair to fit your needs. Each one has their own schedule with the earliest starting Wednesday, Oct. 14 and most end Sunday, Oct. 18. You can find information about each fair at the NWA Craft Fair website.

Breathtaking Fall Foliage in Northwest ArkansasFall Foliage

The fall foliage isn’t really an event per se, but we had to mention it. Colors are already starting to change a bit but should really take off in the next few weeks. You can start getting fall foliage updates starting September 24 and Arkansas.com offers information about the prettiest fall foliage drives in the state (we’ve heard that the Pig Trail should be repaired in October).

We hope you enjoy these fun events and beautiful scenery but do so safely and responsibly.
