‘Going the extra mile’
A key part of being a successful company no matter which industry you’re in is making sure your team feels valued and informed about what is going on within the company they work for. At On Time Logistics, one of our favorite methods of engaging employees and our independent couriers is through our quarterly and annual meetings.
We held our annual meeting on Thursday, February 7, and were delighted for the chance to engage with our team. Our annual meetings always include a meal, fellowship, updates on the previous year, a look to the future, and two awards for team members who have been stellar in their work the previous year.
Larry Merle Award
Larry Merle was one of the first couriers we ever had at On Time Logistics. Larry was 86 when he started with us and he continues to live in Fayetteville and is in his 90s. His example of perseverance, hard work, and dedication to our customers is why we named this award after him. We give this every year to the courier that stands out for delivering this kind of consistent service.
Linda Gifford is this year’s Merle Award winner. Linda has been a part of OTL since 2013 and her consistent commitment to providing excellent customer service is invaluable to both us and our clients. Linda is also a source of fun and laughter around the office and we’re pleased that she uses her fun-loving attitude to provide service for our customers.
Above & Beyond Award
The Above & Beyond Award is our annual award for employees who, as the award name says, go above and beyond their duties to make our company a success.
Levi Baker started with OTL in 2015 in the warehouse and willingly took on much more administrative duties in the last year. He’s done so with professionalism and grace. He is known for being kind to everyone he meets, be it his fellow team members or our customers.
Besides the awards, the biggest part of our annual meetings includes reviewing the previous year and giving an outlook for the future. We had a record-breaking year in 2018 and expect the pace to continue. The logistics industry—especially last mile delivery—has been growing at least 30 percent annually for the last several years. Industry experts project that in 10 years, we will have seen a 400 percent increase in that time span.
As Pam Jones, wife of founder Steve Jones said, we so appreciate all our team members for “going that extra mile” in serving our customers and making what we do a success.
As the demand for quality logistics services increases, we strive to stay ahead of the game in both quality and level of service.
