Invest in your community this holiday season

Invest in your community this holiday season

add-heading

The Northwest Arkansas community is vibrant and rich with resources but it also is the home to many needs. Those needs multiply during the holiday season as people’s resources are often pushed to (and past) their limits.

One of the features that makes Northwest Arkansas a great place to live is the generosity of its residents. When we hear of a need, we meet it. We at On Time Logistics wanted to remind you of a few places in Northwest Arkansas that are working extra hard to help during this time of year. The below ideas are places where you can donate what you can, be it time, talent, or resources.

  • The Salvation Army-We all know about the Red Kettle Bell Ringers (your family or group can volunteer to do that!), but they also serve meals (including a major community dinner on Thanksgiving Day), and host the Angel Tree.
  • 7Hills Homeless Center-The homeless shelter often publishes its specific donation needs on Facebook, as well as other opportunities to serve including literally serving food.
  • Life Source International-This organization is hosting its 14th annual Canned Food Campout Nov. 17-19 at the Mall Avenue Walmart in Fayetteville. But check out their link to find other ways to volunteer at other times.
  • The Potter’s House Thrift Store-This store supports the ministries of Potter House. You can donate or help sort donations!
  • Samaritan Community Center/Shop-This organization has many, many opportunities to volunteer during the holidays and all year long. From sorting donations in the thrift stores to serving in the café, individuals, families, and groups can all find their niche.
  • Northwest Arkansas Food Bank-The NWA Food Bank offers many opportunities to serve including volunteering time, organizing a food or donation drive, or donating directly.

These organizations are just a few suggestions for giving back this holiday season (or idea for where to get help if needed).

We hope that you, your family and your workplace all find a way to reach out to others in need this season and all year long.
