Meet: Rick Logue
Like many workplaces, we rely on our people to be dependable and to be the face of our business in the community. We are grateful that Rick Logue, this month’s team member highlight, takes that responsibility seriously!
“(I enjoy) knowing that I can be counted on to deliver (medical) samples on time,” he said of one of the things enjoys most about his work with On Time Logistics. “My co-workers are the best.”
Rick started working for us in October 2017 and took a brief hiatus before returning more recently. He runs a medical courier route and helps us with on-demand deliveries when he’s available.
Before joining On Time Logistics, Rick worked at a sawmill for 17 years and also the Fayetteville Police Department for 18 years. He loves spending time with his large family, which includes his wife, six grown children, and five grandchildren. Rick also enjoys fishing, watching any sporting event, and serving as a pastor along with his wife over a ministry that helps the homeless and underprivileged.
We have opportunities for you!
As the demand for courier services is again on the rise, we are always looking for reliable contract couriers.
As a contract courier, you are a self-employed, independent contractor which means you are running your own business! We would be contracting wit you, and the use of your vehicle, to make our courier deliveries. You pick your schedule and, to some degree, how much you work.
Contract couriers are paid a percentage (commission) of each delivery they. Deductions from that payout may be taken for uniform charges, communications equipment or other circumstances. Because you are self-employed, you will be required to pay your own income taxes. However, some expenses, such as vehicle-related costs, may be tax deductible. It is important to keep all your receipts and record of payments as this information will be needed to complete your income tax return at the end of the year.
We have some basic requirements for all contract couriers and delivery drivers (who are employed by OTL). Those requirements include:
- 21 years of age
- Valid DL (CDL for delivery drivers)
- Clean driving record
- Pass a background check
- Reliable vehicle (Contract couriers only, drivers use our trucks)
- Professional appearance (Business casual)
- Smartphone on a major carrier (ie. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint etc.)
- Appropriate delivery-use insurance ($300,000 liability minimum)
- Approved Drug Test required prior to contract or employment offer
Does working in an environment where you can choose your own schedule and have great co-workers appeal to you? Do you fit the above requirements? Contact us today!
