Anyone who follows our Facebook, Twitter or Linked-In accounts (or this blog) knows we share more than just articles about logistics and warehousing. Have you ever wondered why we share information about weather, road and traffic conditions, and car maintenance?

It’s because as logistics providers, we at On Time Logistics have a lot of experience in those safety areas. Our couriers are on the roads every day and know what it’s like to navigate through inclement weather and gnarly traffic that you find in Northwest Arkansas, Tulsa, and Little Rock. We also have a growing vehicle fleet and see first-hand how important it is for safety and your pocket book to maintain vehicles well.

We share all our blogs on all three channels and often repeat the blogs when the subject is warranted. Here’s just a look at what we already share and what we plan to share in the future:

On our Twitter account, we often retweet information about traffic tie ups, construction plans and road conditions. On Facebook, we share information about planned road construction, again so you have a head’s up for your commute. By helping keep people aware of road conditions, we are hoping to help you make safe decisions on when to leave for your commute and what roads are best to take (or avoid).

Weather safety

Lately this is where we share the most information as we’ve had a dose of winter weather in our coverage areas. We share about upcoming weather conditions and in the case of inclement weather, we share ongoing forecast information. All kinds of weather can affect safety from precipitation to extreme temperatures. Weather can make or break plans and we want to help get that information to our fans. We share this on both Facebook and Twitter.

Car maintenance safety

Having your vehicle break down is never a good thing and it can even be dangerous if you’re stuck on the side of the road. We talk about taking care of your vehicle before trips, in bad weather and general maintenance. We also know how important it is to save money and a well-maintained vehicle can help you do that. We pass the savings from our well-maintained fleet onto customers and it only makes sense to share the knowledge as well.

Lifting and carrying safety

Another area that the OTL family is an expert at is safety in lifting. This is an area we’ve not talked about yet and we’ve been remiss. Our couriers carry everything from small documents to large pieces of machinery or household goods. To stay healthy and safe we all use safe lifting procedures. Expect to see more information about this on future blogs and social media.
