From the NWA Championship website

This week thousands of visitors will be in Northwest Arkansas as they enjoy almost a week of professional women’s golf. You’ve probably already noticed an increase in traffic because of the week’s schedule and we wanted to make sure you knew where the various events were so you can be prepared.

For those who are new to the region, the NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G is an official LPGA Tour event featuring more than 140 of the top female golfers in the world and a $2 million purse ($300,000 to the champion). The 2016 Spectator Guide has great information about watching the tournament at Pinnacle Hills Country Club throughout the week.

The week started with the Pantene Beautiful Lengths event last Monday. Participants were asked to get eight inches of untreated hair trimmed at a long list of participating salons then they gathered for a celebration.

This year, the newly rebranded BITE NW Arkansas is a two-day food festival June 23-24 at the Walmart AMP. Unfortunately for those who might want tickets, the event appears to be sold out.

This is what the website says about the expanded event:

“Celebrating the region’s best cuisines, ingredients, restaurants and chefs, BITE NW Arkansas aims to give attendees an unparalleled culinary experience in their own backyard.”

June 25 features the annual 5K @ the LPGA benefiting Mercy, which starts at the Walmart AMP, and winds through the streets of Pinnacle and down the famous Gatorade 17th hole, before exiting Pinnacle with a straight shot back to the Walmart AMP.  We always encourage caution around bicyclists and runners, but be especially aware that there will be large numbers of them in that area Saturday.

That Saturday night features the 2016 Community Concert with Rachel Platten. That, of course, is at the AMP.

As experienced logistics providers in Northwest Arkansas, we appreciate how much work goes into planning events like this and are proud to be part of a community that provides so many opportunities for fun, learning and excellence.
