On Time Logistics NWA logoYou probably have noticed that we’ve been introducing our couriers and other staff to you on our blog but we realized we’ve never really introduced On Time Logistics to you!  So today we’d though we’d share about how we got our start and what makes us “tick” so to speak.

Our story starts with our owner and founder, Steve Jones

Steve worked in the insurance industry for 25 years and decided he wanted to delve into something new. An entrepreneur at heart, Steve used his background and knowledge in vehicle insurance to look into the idea of a logistics service. He found a great model in Dallas and started OTL from scratch. He knew that a courier service would do well in a place like Northwest Arkansas and he was right!

He started On Time Logistics in 2007 and it now has three offices: Springdale, Tulsa and Little Rock. Steve says he enjoys the leadership challenge and building relationships throughout the organization.

Steve is married to Pam and they have two grown kids and one granddaughter. He is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to ride his bike, kayak and go hiking.

Solid mission

One of our founding principles is to “under promise and over deliver.” Our customers would agree we stick by that principle still!

We prefer to live out our vision and mission statements but realize we probably don’t vocalize them enough. Like many of our customers, we are considered a small business and we believe it’s helpful when businesses share more about their mission, vision and best practices.

Our mission is simple:  Help our customers fulfill their shipment and delivery needs.

So how do we do that? How do we help our customers? That’s where our vision statement comes in to play. The On Time Logistics vision is this:

“On Time Logistics is the trusted provider of warehousing, fulfillment and delivery services for businesses in the Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas region.”

We all know that trust must be earned through hard work and consistent excellence. Just like people, a business must have established values that both drive and live out its mission. Our core values as a company essentially boil down to excellence in all we do. We want to live out the values listed below in all facets of our business.

  • Personal accountability
  • Resourcefulness
  • Flexibility

In other words, we must do what we say we are going to do. We must depend on and trust each person within our team. And finally, we want to have a great attitude about serving our customers.
