Jeff Clardy

Before being a self-employed courier with On Time Logistics, Jeff Clardy was self-employed in a different industry.

He owned a popular shoe repair service for 35 years and his son now operates the business. In 2009, Jeff needed a quadruple heart bypass but ultimately there was too much damage and he ended up having a heart transplant in 2010.

He was told then that, because of the chemicals and fumes involved, he needed to get out of the shoe repair business. He took a full year off to recuperate then decided to look for part-time work. He needed something that was flexible both with the schedule and availability, which made working at On Time Logistics as a contract courier the perfect fit.

Jeff and his wife of 33 years started a new hobby that leads them to great adventure. They travel in an RV full time and live in the Northwest Arkansas area during the winter months. “We decided to do that because so many wait until the end of their life and then it’s too late,” Jeff says. “We’re doing what we enjoy and still making a living.” His favorite location to visit is the Madison, Wisconsin area and the U.S. Transplant Games, which is an event that brings donors and patient families together for fellowship and fun. Jeff and his wife have three sons and eight grandchildren.
